TIP #13
Thinking
of buying an item that has one of these round
white "LV" tags attached? Don't!
Sellers, please DO NOT sell anything that has
or had this tag attached! This is discussed
in Poupette's Guide. |
TIP
#14
As with Tip #13, avoid LV items with a swatch
of fabric attached. Poupette has NEVER seen
such items attached to authentic LV. You don't
have to take Poupette's word for it. Call any
LV boutique or ask any reputable seller of
authentic LV. You will hear the same.

TIP #16
This is how the bottom of a Looping #M51145
bag should look, with two swatches of material
stitched down the center.
3/14/03 Update: Louis Vuitton
has produced all three Looping models in two
configurations -- One with two strips of fabric
comprising the sides and bottom, stitched together
bottom center and another with one strip of fabric
comprising the sides and bottom. The latest models
appear to use one strip of fabric, as it tends
to hold together better. |
TIP #17
This is how the bottom of a Mini Looping
bag #M51147 should look with one continuous
piece of material.
See update above. |
TIP #18
When storing LV bags with leather shoulder
straps and buckles for a long period of time
(more than a month), unbuckle the hardware
and disconnect the straps (roll them up or
fold them) to help avoid discoloration and
misshapen straps. |
TIP #19
To help preserve the shape you want to maintain
for your stored LV bag, stuff it with soft
t-shirts or store it flat, depending on the
bag. |
TIP #20
Kudos to enthusiast Desi for this reminder:
You stated that only 4 Monogram Canvas Graffiti
items were produced. But I did see the Graffiti
Boite Chapeaux in a Japanese LV catalog. It's
really NICE !!
Poupette's Reply: Yes, I should clarify
that there were many special-order items made
in the Monogram Graffiti design, but they were
not mass-produced with the original 5000 pieces.
Thanks for bringing that up!

TIP #12
If the item you are interested in buying
on auction only has photos of the front,
please request that the seller provide at
least a photo of the back, bottom and interior.
Poupette cannot render a fair determination
of authenticity without those views. Photos
of the top and sides are also very helpful.
