These bags have been highly replicated. With prices double, triple and quadruple the retail price, these pieces are now much too expensive for you to shell out money without protection. Some high-feedback sellers and those who have been established on eBay for a while are selling counterfeits! Whether it is known to them or not is insignificant. There is also a "bait and switch" con going on. Sellers are using real photos to sell their fake bags. The fact is, once your money is out the door, you will likely be stuck. Unless you know or trust the seller, USE AN ESCROW SERVICE! This allows you to inspect the merchandise before the seller is paid. If the seller does not agree to this, move on! eBay offers such a service. There is a fee based on the price of the bag, but it is cheaper than being stuck with an expensive fake. The most you will recover through eBay's fraud insurance is $175 and after all of your expenses in proving the item is not authentic, you will be lucky to end up with $125. Don't let this happen to you. Be particularly wary when purchasing from overseas sellers. Not because they are less trustworthy, but if something goes wrong, odds are you will never see your money again. I get emails about this every day, so be careful out there. This is sage advice for any pricey item you find on eBay. |
