About the Lost Archives
We present some of the color photos taken by The French Co. when it produced Louis Vuitton's products designed exclusively for the North American (domestic) market. Some Louis Vuitton items were commissioned by such upscale department stores as Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and I. Magnin.
These are old polaroids and snapshots that were not meant for public viewing so they are imperfect. There is no narrative and no name on several of these products. In producing the American line, The French Co. used an internal numbering system.
The collection in this book was produced between the late-1970's and the mid-1980's. After this time, Louis Vuitton's International Collection came into being and that is when most products were named.
Enjoy this found collection!
